Still Thinking It Over?

“I already have health insurance.”

Health insurance pays the doctor and hospital. This plan pays cash directly to you, so you can cover deductibles, travel, time off work and the bills that keep coming.

“I have Medicare.”

Medicare helps pay for treatment. It does not hand you cash for rent, travel or help at home. This plan does.

“Cancer runs in my family.”

That is a good reason to look at a plan now, before anything happens. A diagnosis made before your coverage starts is not covered.

“I had cancer before.”

It depends on your health history. Call us and we will check what you may qualify for.

How fast can I be covered?

There is a short waiting period after your policy starts. For heart attack and stroke it is 30 days. Coverage is not effective until the insurance company issues the policy and any applicable requirements for coverage to begin are satisfied.

“What if I get cancer again?”

Without a recurrence rider the cancer policy pays once. You can add a rider that pays again later, depending on how long you went without treatment.

“Is it expensive?”

You pick the amount, from $5,000 to $75,000, so you pick the price. Call us and we will show you options that fit your budget.

“Who gets the money?”

You do. The benefit is paid directly to you, not to the doctor or hospital.

You can’t plan for a diagnosis.
You can plan for the bills.

Plan Details. Benefits described on this page are based on ManhattanLife Lump Sum Cancer and/or Heart & Stroke insurance, policy form series AK7029 and AK7030, including applicable state variations.

Coverage options generally range from $5,000 to $75,000 for Cancer, Heart & Stroke, or both. Each coverage has its own benefit amount. General issue ages are 20 to 84. Available coverage, eligibility and benefits depend on the selected policy and state.

Covered Conditions and Benefits. Qualifying cancer diagnoses, heart attacks, strokes and heart transplants may pay 100% of the applicable benefit amount. Certain qualifying cardiac procedures pay a percentage of the selected Heart & Stroke benefit amount, including coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic surgery and heart valve surgery at 25%, and angioplasty and stent procedures at 10%.

Partial benefit payments reduce the remaining benefit amount available for future qualifying claims. Cancer coverage generally terminates after the full Cancer Lump Sum Benefit is paid. Heart & Stroke coverage generally terminates when its lifetime benefit maximum has been paid.

Optional Cancer Recurrence and Heart & Stroke Restoration of Benefits riders may provide additional benefits under qualifying circumstances. Rider availability, premiums, waiting requirements and restoration percentages vary by age, state and policy terms.

Waiting Periods and Eligibility. Waiting periods apply after the policy effective date. Heart & Stroke coverage generally has an initial 30-day waiting period. Diagnoses occurring during an applicable waiting period are not covered and may result in termination of coverage with a refund of applicable premiums, as specified in the policy.

Heart & Stroke coverage also includes a 12-month limitation for certain pre-existing conditions. Benefits are subject to the policy's definitions of qualifying conditions, exclusions and other requirements. Diagnoses received outside the United States or its territories may be excluded.

Applications are subject to underwriting, and approval is not guaranteed.

Health Statistics. General cancer, heart attack and stroke statistics referenced on this page are based on information published by the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These statistics describe population-level health risks and do not predict an individual's likelihood of diagnosis or eligibility for insurance benefits.

Important Coverage Information. This is limited-benefit, specified-disease insurance. It is not major medical insurance, Medicare, Medicare Supplement insurance or Medicaid, and it does not replace any of these programs.

Benefits are payable only for qualifying covered conditions and events as defined in the policy. The amount paid may be less than actual medical or other expenses. Coverage includes limitations, exclusions, waiting periods and maximum benefit amounts.

Benefits are generally paid directly to the insured unless otherwise assigned in accordance with the policy. Coverage and rider availability vary by insurance company and state.

Agency Disclosure. Shore Legacy Insurance, LLC is an independent insurance agency, not an insurance company. Insurance products are issued by the insurance companies we represent.

Products, benefits, eligibility and availability vary by insurance company and state. Not every product is available in every state. Coverage becomes effective only when the issuing insurance company's policy requirements are satisfied, and all coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the policy.
