If there’s no plan, who pays?

Your kids split it.

Not everyone can pay the same. That’s when the arguing starts.

It goes on a credit card.

Then someone pays it off for months, with interest.

They ask for help online.

Friends and strangers chipping in to pay for Mom’s funeral.

With a plan, the money goes directly to your chosen beneficiary once the claim is approved. Your beneficiary can use the benefit to help cover funeral costs and other expenses, subject to the policy terms.

Made for people your age.

Ages 50 to 85

Many plans are designed for adults ages 50 to 85. Eligibility and availability vary by insurance company and state.

No medical exam on some plans

Some plans do not require a medical exam. Health questions and underwriting requirements may apply.

Fast decisions on some plans

Some applications receive a quick decision. Others may require additional review.

Fixed premiums on some plans

Certain policies offer level premiums that stay the same as long as coverage remains in force under the policy terms.

Coverage that can last a lifetime

Certain whole life policies provide lifetime coverage as long as required premiums are paid and policy conditions are met.

Benefits for your chosen beneficiary

Once an eligible claim is approved, the death benefit is paid to your named beneficiary, subject to the policy terms.

Have health concerns? You may still have coverage options. Eligibility, waiting periods, benefit limitations, and availability vary by insurance company and plan.

Mom or Dad?

Many adult children help their parents explore final expense insurance to prepare for future funeral costs and reduce the financial burden on their families.

  • In many cases, you can own the policy and pay the premiums, subject to insurance company requirements.

  • The policy owner can generally choose the beneficiary, subject to the policy rules.

  • Your parent must consent to the coverage and complete any required application steps.

Still Thinking It Over?

“My kids will take care of it.”

They would. But it comes out of their pocket at the hardest time of their lives. A plan lets them grieve instead of worrying about the bill.

“I’m too old.”

Probably not. Many plans accept people up to age 85. Over 85, call us and we’ll check what’s still available.

“I’m on a fixed income.”

You pick the amount, so you pick the price. Even a smaller plan covers a big part of the bill.

“I have some savings set aside.”

Savings can get tied up while the estate is settled. A plan pays the person you choose directly, and your savings stay with your spouse or family.

“I have health problems.”

Many plans just ask a few health questions. Some accept almost everyone, though they may pay a smaller amount if death happens in the first two or three years.

“Won’t Social Security cover it?”

Social Security pays a one-time death benefit of $255, and only to an eligible spouse or child. That won’t go far.

What can the money be used for?

Anything. The funeral, medical bills, credit cards, travel so family can come home, or a gift to the grandkids or your church.

How fast can I be covered?

Often very fast. Many people apply in minutes and get an answer right away. On some plans, if you’re approved, coverage can start the same day. Some applications need more review.

A small plan today.

No big bill for your family tomorrow.

Coverage and Eligibility. Final expense insurance is a type of life insurance. Available coverage amounts, issue ages, premiums, and underwriting requirements vary by insurance company, product, and state. Some plans do not require a medical exam, but health questions or additional review may apply. Approval is not guaranteed.

Waiting Periods and Benefits. Some policies have limited or graded death benefits during the first two or three years. Other policies may provide immediate full death benefit coverage after the policy becomes effective. Benefits, exclusions, and limitations depend on the specific policy.

Premiums and Policy Duration. Some final expense policies offer level premiums and coverage designed to last a lifetime, provided required premiums are paid. Terms and guarantees depend on the issuing insurance company and policy.

Beneficiaries and Claims. Death benefits are paid to eligible beneficiaries according to the policy terms after a claim is approved. Beneficiaries can generally use the proceeds for funeral expenses, outstanding bills, or other financial needs. Death benefits are generally not subject to federal income tax, although exceptions may apply. Consult a qualified tax advisor regarding your circumstances.

Applications and Effective Dates. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or immediate coverage. Coverage becomes effective only when the

issuing insurance company's applicable requirements are satisfied, including any required premium, and according to the policy's effective date and terms.
